Actor and producer, Shona Ferguson, is being laid to rest today.
His private funeral is being attended by only close family members.
Ferguson will be laid to rest at Fourways cemetery in Johannesburg.

According to the family statement, his memorial service will be held at a later stage.
“The Ferguson family would like to confirm that the late Shona Ferguson will be laid to rest in a private ceremony attended only by family members on Wednesday, 4 August 2021,” read the statement.
“Details of a memorial service will be communicated at a later stage once all necessary arrangements have been finalised.”
The family thanked South Africans for all their support.
“We would like to thank our friends and the public at large for the kind words of comfort during this difficult period.”

Shona Ferguson died at the age of 47 on 30 July due to COVID-19 complications.
Prior to his death, the Sunday World reported that he was admitted at the Milpark private hospital where he underwent a heart operation.
Ferguson’s death touched the lives of many people across the continent.
Not only was he an award-winning actor but he was also a director and producer. He started Ferguson Films with his wife, Connie Ferguson. The production company has produced Mzansi most-loved drama series and TV shows such as ‘Rockville’, ‘iGazi’, ‘The Gift’, ‘The Throne’, ‘The Herd’, ‘The Queen’, ‘The River’, ‘The Imposter’, and ‘ Kings of Joburg’.
